Start the auction at $3,000 and get no bids. Start the auction at $2,800 and it shoots up to $3,100. I wonder if whoever wins this auction will ever know. The human psyche at an auction is a curious thing.
Once the bidding gets started, anything can happen.

And.... it all depends on who sees the auction in the first place. Maybe no one thought to look during the previous time frame. But now, one, two, three... people are thinking they need one and they all looked at once. In a way, an auction depends on luck. It is a bit of a gamble who shows up for auctions.

Yep, the first auction got it noticed. When nobody bid on it, everybody (including myself) kept checking back to see if it was relisted. Now, everyone that wants it, knows about it. The best time to bid on it was the first auction listing. I am betting there's someone out there now that wants it and doesn't mind running the bid up to get it.

Still won't be me, though I was tempted on the first auction. I'd rather pay extra and have brand new, never used.

I am honestly not tempted by it. Now if it were an F* or FA* 250-600 sitting there at that price I'd say it's on.

I'm on the fence between the 560 and the Sigma 500mm. I'm also holding out to see if the 560 comes down in price any before I decide.

I'm waiting to see if that Sigma 150-600 Sport is going to be released in Pentax mount as that on Australian ad a user posted on here showed.

Underwhelmed by the lack of interest in the lens and the low final sales price. If I didn't already have the 500 I would have bid. Instead of Bigger I am going closer with plans to buy a portable boat to photography wetlands and bays in the region. A portable boat, electric outboard is leIss than $3100. I talked with several photographers in boats - they work about as good as a blind. Time (and money) will tell.

I'm currently searching for a canoe for the exact same idea. Guess we're going to have some interesting photos in the next few months.

This guy lives down the road from me and uses a sit-on kayak. His photos are what made me want a canoe in the first place.

I have decided on a Porta-Bote - which has a flat bottom, has a draft of only 4 inches, and it supports a tripod. It is also very stable. Another option I find of interest is a pop-up sunshade to keep the heat and sun away. If needed you can also add an outboard - electric or gas.
