Originally posted by normhead mrNewt, there you go again, more information that's bad for my wallet... but I have wondered from time to time what happened to their used section. I have also purchased used from their Ottawa store (downtown) that has a corner display with with some Pentax glass in it, as does the downtown store. SO, I'm really unclear as to how it works, they used to be a single store, now they're a chain.
But all of the schools in Mississauga taught with K1000s, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if Mississauga was a hotbed of Pentax activity. All the HS photography students we're Pentax indoctrinated.
I've never been in the Henry's Mississauga store, for everything I did, including purchases, my board always dealt directly with Pentax and I've been in the old Mississauga repair facility many times.
Well, you know what they are saying... "brothers in arms"
.
Things are disappearing very fast in that store once they have "new" stuff coming in.
Last time I was there (last week), half the store was empty and they were expecting "new" stuff to come in. Lately I usually buy print paper only (quality paper at sometimes very low, low prices). I try and stay away from their camera gear because I usually end up buying more than I want/need.
They don't have as much Pentax gear as they use to so probably your wallet might be safe... They still have a lot of old lenses, but not the "good stuff". Usually "the good stuff" disappears in the same day (I think a lot of people have connections in the store...). But they have newer lenses and bodies
at decent "Canadian" prices.
I've seen good deals on tripods, studio lights, printers... bags and so on. Bad place to go shopping...
