Tamrac 5374 Adventure backpack $39.99
Posted By: SpecialK, 03-03-2015, 10:32 PM

I'm not normally a backpack guy but I recently got a Ruggard Outrigger for $49.99. I've always liked Tamrac and this seems pretty good.

To be honest, I had the Tamrac, space wise it is very nice. However, for me it was very uncomfortable..the straps were very narrow and not properly padded and it hurt me after carrying for like an hour. I returned it and got the "Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG" instead. It is much better than the Tamrac. But everyone has a different taste Could be a great deal for someone..

Thanks to the OP for posting this! I just ordered it! I don't backpack, but wanted something handy to carry along to hold some of my equipment.

That's a great deal!

Only problem is I paid $7+ for UPS Ground, and it says delivery on the 16th! 11 days for UPS paying this much extra is troublesome. Why pay extra when it takes so long? I tried to contact B&H, but are closed until tomorrow. I'll try then.

Well, the Tamrac looks gone now. The Canon seemed a bit small, and I settled on the Ruggard - which barely holds it all if I take everything, without being huge or expensive.

You never know upfront with the straps . I have another Tamrac Adventure 2 daypak (small one, but perfect for non-gripped manual SLR body and 3-4 short primes). The straps are very well designed, padded, non-slippy at all, with all the hips and chest straps & buckles, but after some hiking I noticed the straps due to its reinforced bottom surface started ruining the outside of my Tenson MPX jacket on its shoulders, so I stopped using that otherwise very nice Tamrac rucksack

Well, just got an e-mail; despite my order being accepted & PayPal charged, the item is not in stock but on backorder. They have no idea how long it will be. Best they could say is that they'd call me next week!

I think I'm just going to cancel the order.

I needed something to replace my Pentax sling bag now that I have the 150-500. I missed out on a deal for the Lowepro Fastpack 350 that BestBuy had. It was pickup only and no store within 500 miles had one. So I ordered one direct from China on Aliexpress.

This was on January 28th. It arrived today. But it the price was half of what it is retail...

Well, I wanted to order the rust/black, as it's still available, so B&H cancelled my first order. However, it will take 3-5 business days for the refund to hit my PayPal account!! I'm not very happy, and at this point don't think I'll be placing the new order. The order should not have been put thru in the first place, taking the funds when the item was no longer available.

Update! Henry of B&H was very kind and sent me an e-mail with a "hold" for me on the black/rust bag, until I get my PayPal reimbursed! This kind of service in this day & age is very rare indeed! We are so fortunate to have businesses such as B&H!

Just received this bag in 3 days!! Many thanks to Henry (B&H) again. This is a very well-built backpack, with many pockets for accessories. It's large enough to hold my K10D w/grip and Tokina 400 mm lens attached!

I'm very pleased with it, at an excellent price also; $49.95 shipped!

Tamrac 3380 Aero 80 Photo/Laptop Backpack ($49)

Thanks to this thread I ordered from B&H different model of Tamrac 3380 Aero 80 Photo/Laptop backpack (bearing 15'' laptop in mind):
www.amazon.com/Tamrac-3380-Photo-Laptop-Backpack/product-reviews/B000XXBMCY

I also was lucky with close-out sale at my local dealer and got Tamrac 3458 Rally Photo Hip Pack (below) and te good news is Tamrac 3458 Rally Hip Pack fits K-3 body (RRS L-bracket, no grip) with DA* 50-135mm/2.8 lens attached (vertically, lens-hood in reversed position) plus Pentax AF540FGZ flash unit, with some more spare room. On the cons I wish the Tamrac 3458 had wider hip belt (the belt is only 1 1/2'' wide) and a rain cover, but overall I'm happy with this hip pack:

Nice! I'm very impressed with the quality of the Tamrac. So impressed, I wrote a review:

Let us know how you like yours; sure can't beat either at that price. We owe SpecialK big time for starting this thread!
