Ebay now has several K-01 bodies from Roberts Camera going at once. They still have a few Buy It Now deals as well, this link is just to auction prices:

There is now another bunch of the mint- K-01 on auction at roberts ebay (and just one 40mm xs). In previous rounds prices were in the range $130-$200 + $16 shipping, while the buy now price is around $290 + free shipping. I got one for $157 + $16 shipping.

Yeah, Roberts has been unloading a lot of Pentax stuff the past few months.
For a while, they were trying to sell slightly used stuff at prices comparable to what B&H was asking for the new ones.
I was disappointed, because I bought my first Pentax camera from them, but I finally gave up on them and bought my K-30 from KEH instead.
Now, that I'm no longer in the market, they seem to have wised up and are selling using auctions, which direct them to reasonable prices.

Oh I wish I hadn't seen this.... I want a k-01 for timelapse to keep from destroying my k3 shutter. Let the gear buying addiction continue!

Is the seller reputable? A bit unbelievable seeing a k-01 under $50! Any idea of what the drawbacks could be?

I really need a new yellow K-01 for under $150 (about the cost to fix mine). I wish I weren't so busy/lazy to contend with an auction. Oh well. Sometimes good deals take some effort.

I don't think any of the Roberts' K-01's have sold for under $50. The starting bid is $9.99 but the final price depends on how much the bidders are willing to pay. As I said, the final prices I have observed range from $130 to $200 (the low prices tend to be for the first ones in the batch and maybe the less appealing color). The first two of the current batch sold for $150 each (one black and one yellow) + $15 shipping. I doubt any will sell for less than $100. The one I got was in perfect condition (they say MINT-) and it seems all right though I haven't used it much. In each listing they list the accesories included and this seems to differ a little form one to other, though it seems all come with the battery and charger at least (and without the original box). They have 30 "Day Return Guarantee", so I think purchasing from them is almost risk free. They have a good reputation in ebay (99.4%). I have no relation to Roberts ...

Yesterday the used K-30 I ordered from Robert's arrived. Exactly as described, and fast shipping, too.

If I had the $$ right now, I'd get in on the bidding for another K-01. Love my Bumblebee...

Roberts has been a photography seller in Indianapolis for many years. I want to say they started at there original location sometime in the 1930's but I'm not sure.

I have also found there website a little slow but if you are looking for Pentax, used is where you need to go.

Good points here.

Smart eBay sellers know that low starting bids typically result in the highest final price.
