K-50 Body + Card + Flash = $329
Posted By: Adam, 04-16-2015, 09:36 PM

The black K-50 body has gotten yet another discount at B&H and is now just $329 with $97.90 in free extras and a 4% reward on top of that:

Looks like Amazon has the black body down to $315.65 at the moment (one left). B&H still has the body at $329 but has dropped the extra bonus items. Adorama still includes the flash and SD card, so may be the best deal.

Sweet, amazing what you can find if you read the whole thread aye

Oh I see the lens price has gone up $40 since this started though, so the 50mm is now $51.95 after the discount is applied instead of $19.
Still a good price though.
Yeah, I'm willing to bet that the $19 was a typo.

The flash plus the 50mm for $60 is an awesome offer.

I'm pinning all my hopes on something amazing at this years black Friday sale period, and am saving for this now...

A full frame perhaps?

The K-50 will be long discontinued by then. Hopefully there will be some nice deals on the K-S2.

I wish

Having a K-30 already, the K-50 was envisioned as a 2nd body basically. The K-S2 has some nice new features, but fundamentally it's a K-50 in a lot of ways also (# focus points, max shutter speed and burst rate etc).
Sad to see the K-S2 video is the same also (still no real mechanical stabilisation, focus peaking or digital zoom ability during video mode), given the K-S2 has a Mic input and floppy screen. Would have been a nice WR body for video if they gave it some attention.

If it was a typo, they honored it; I got my $20 50mm 1.8 yesterday! It had been back-ordered for a while, so I'm sure quite a few people got in on that deal.

Amazon now has the black body down to $309.94, and an even better deal on the black twin lens kit for $404.99.

Looks like the body has dropped to just $309.94 at B&H...without freebies.

Ebay has been flooded by Roberts Camera with used low count k-50 bodies for $308 /obo. Counts seem to be less then 50 on all the ones I checked out. Scratches range though.
Been enjoying the hell out of my wife's K-50 since we got it. I was actually looking to scoop up another cheaply. $308 -used- doesn't do it for me but maybe someone else. Target cleared them out new for $310 with the kit 18-55mm WR lens so that feels like a good benchmark.
After seeing this message, I started to look at what Roberts is doing at eBay. It turns out that they have even more low count K-30 bodies out there, and their prices are roughly $50 more than the K-50 bodies.

This leads me to ask two questions:

(1) how could there now be so many low-count K-30 bodies in one place?

(2) what would cause a savvy seller like Roberts to expect to get more from K-30 bodies than from comparable K-50 bodies?

another question would be how do you continue to ask the same price tag used as a huge dealer like Adorama has for new in the box. At this point it doesnt matter much to me anymore. I have already put my order in at Adorama for a second K-50. Roberts can enjoy their used stock pile

I guess I should apologize for leading this discussion off on a different path. My defense is that I'm a former economics major. One of the major pillars of economics is "complete information", and the current strategy by Roberts, who really are savvy folk, seems to depend on a complete lack of information.

They (roberts) are holding also a number of K-01's (with prices around $260-300) that don't sell, but right now they are auctioning a few with starting price $9.99. Maybe the turn for the K-30 will come soon.

That would be good for someone else. In the meantime, in another week or so my signature will have a blue K-30 added to it as a result of a purchase I made from KEH (body+lens was less than the $300+ Roberts is asking for just a body, and hopefully this will turn out to be of at least equal quality)
