eBay: Pentax-A 50mm f1.7 for $35

Buy-It-Now for about half what it normally sells for and includes 3 filters, which seems like a pretty good deal to me!

Just bought it -- thanks. Not sure about the "adapted to 52mm filter" part, but if the rest of the listing is honest, should be good. I have the M version, and have tried to replace it with a pair of A versions (both of which were returned through dispute resolution) so we'll see how this one goes.

Thanks again!

It has a 49mm to 52mm step-up ring on it.

Received the lens. Decent enough copy. I thought I would be getting a step up ring out of the deal too, but nope -- that step up ring is a permanent fixture on that lens. Not sure why they would do that, but I ordered a screw-on 52mm hood, so it will work well enough.

The ring in the listing photo that says "52 JAPAN" is not part of the lens and should unscrew (I just checked my copy to confirm where the filter thread is). Of course it's possible someone cross threaded the adapter (or even glued it) so that it's not moving easily.

It looks like the "49 to" was scratched off the step-up ring. It's possible that the 49mm threads were damaged or perhaps one of the previous owners simply didn't want to deal with 49mm filters and glued it on. Or maybe it is just on there very tight and could be removed. No big deal really.

Yeah, not a big deal, and I can use the square hood on my M version of the 1.7. It's on there well enough that I don't want to turn any harder
