Just saw it for $160. I'd buy it if I didn't have one already.

Am I missing something with the price of DA 40 these days? Couple of years back, it was hard to score one for less than 275$. These days, I routinely see them sell around the 200 - 225$ mark. I do not know if it is the effect of HD 40 or the impending FF!

I believe the DA 40 is full-frame compatible, so don't expect that's the reason. Prices of the plastic XS version have also dropped significantly.

Lol I promise I wasn't. I just wanted to confirm it was as good a deal as it had appeared to be.

I keep wanting to pick up a 40 Ltd, but I already have an XS, which has the same optics. Buut, the Ltd looks so much nicer. At least the XS does have a metal mount.

Your XS has the advantage of curved aperture blades which the SMC limited version lacks.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that all the DA Limited primes have dropped in (used) price except for the 15 which seems to be holding steady and still in demand.

The 21 seems to still command a high price- maybe because there aren't as many of them out there.

There's been a slight drop by some 15-20% over the $250 that it would command a year ago...you can see them now go below $200 more often

I was actually thinking the 21 value has really dropped. Currently there are 3 or 4 in the marketplace and some have dropped below $300 now.
