Those feelings of anticipation and inspiration are fierce! I recently ordered the K-S2 w/ 18-50 and 50-200 from Amazon in April before becoming a member here, and I just now passed my 10,000th shutter cycle. It is my first dslr, and I had no idea what to expect while I waited for it arrive. Have fun!

I never heard of Popflash Photo, but they seem to have good reviews on the web.

Interestingly with this seller all of their prices on eBay are higher than on their own website, and the Pentax offerings is exactly the same. I'm more accustomed to seeing re-sellers only offer on eBay a smaller selection of their portfolio and usually lower prices.

Congratulations on your new purchase. The 18-135 is often underrated by those who are not familiar with it. With the new sensors in either the k-3 and k-S2, this lens really shines. I am sure you will have lots of fun with this combo.

Same here. I really did my research on them before ordering. I kept hoping that one of the more well-known stores (B&H, Adorama) would drop their prices but I couldn't wait any longer. Popflash is an authorized Pentax dealer, however, and, as you noted, they have great reviews on through their ebay store and a great BB rating. I'll let you know what kind of experience I have. They did ship my camera immediately, so that's a good sign! It's due to arrive on Friday (CA to MO). The only down sign so far is that they have a 7-day return policy, which is very short, IMO. Good thing I'll have the weekend to play with it!

I suspect the higher price on eBay reflects the fees they have to pay selling that way, compared to their own web site. They also appear to offset some of the cost with higher shipping charges. However, if you can take advantage of an eBay-Bucks bonus deal, you may still be able to save a few dollars. As photo dawn indicated, they are an authorized Ricoh Digital Imaging re-seller (online). Enjoy your new camera!

Just a quick update on Popflash Photo as promised.

My K-S2 arrived this morning (yay!). It was promised tomorrow, so it came a whole day early. Bonus points! Popflash sent it insured, with tracking, and signature required - all free through their website. The camera and lens was in the original Pentax box, which was then wrapped in heavy duty bubble wrap and inserted into a heavy cardboard box. As a result, everything arrived in perfect condition. I will definitely consider Popflash Photo in the future!

Now, I just have to wait for the battery to charge . . .
