That's insane. 18 months ago I paid $200 more for this model, and at the time, I thought I was getting a great deal at $479. It is a great camera for the price, especially at today's deal!

Well I figured now or never so I ordered a K50. I am wondering if the K50 will be discontinued soon and this is the way to clear out inventory. You really can not find used ones at this price. I ordered through the direct link through the forums. For less than $300 I got a brand new K50 with the extended 2 year Pentax warranty. The warranty was on sale too.

Never saw the extended warranty when I ordered mine. Out of curiosity, what's the regular price of the warranty?

It's purchased as separate item:Pentax 2 Year Extended Warranty for all current DSLR, Compact and Q Cameras. (Total Warranty 3 years - 1 Year Standard + 2 Years Additional) 85716

Does this needs to be purchased at the time of getting camera or can we add it during the any time under the standard warranty 1 year for the camera.

The extended warranty must be purchased within 30 days of the camera purchase.

I found the warranty under camera service contracts and it was on sale for $17 too. You can buy it within 30 days of your purchase but I just buy it at the same time. I would probably forget to buy it later.

WOW! Glad I saw this thread when I did. The price did indeed go back up.

And thanks for the info re: extended warranty. Looks like the price of the warranty went up too so I picked it up at B&H, saving a couple of bucks.
