Price still seems a bit high to me, but it's getting close to what others have bought their lens for:

Thats not a lens... it's a bazooka, complete with an ammo box.

If your interest is serious, I think the following things are in order:

Ask them if the PF filter is included (Last I checked you can still buy them from Amazon JP and have a broker ship it to you, although it is ~$600).

It's probably not going to have the filter. Depending on the filter, I would say $7500 shipped to you, or $8000 shipped to you.

I believe this is in line with the last couple of documented purchases that weren't mine, although mine did come with an element of risk.

Wasn't yours from the Canadian CIA? That doesn't seem too risky...

Lack of quantitative testing, and risky shipping options left the transaction a bit sketchy.

The seller did respond to me and even lowered the price so one of you can go buy it

I think @dadipentak is thinking about it.

Pentax has its own high quality 112mm & 150mm protective filters for the fronts of their A* lenses, at least I think that is when they started including them or making them available. I, along with others, would prefer to have this as a part of the sale because I would prefer to have the front element protected.

I recently had a windfall . . .

Curiously now that I actually COULD I just don't feel the pressing need the way I would have before.
