3rd-part seller through Amazon. I don't know if this is one of those deals where they don't want to include the hood. $250 is pretty amazing, though.

You can get a non-OEM hood for only a few dollars. The compromise may be worth it for this awesome price!

Just yesterday I bought a used-like-new one for $249.75

Last April I bought the 18-135 for $257 from Amazon warehouse, "used like new" description.
It came in the original box, with papers, and hood with no sign of usage whatsoever.
It's now a favorite.

Yesterday I received a DA 50mm 1.8 from their warehouse for $85.
Description was "good" and it came repackaged, no papers etc, but in brand new condition also.

Gray market lens but at this price it may be worth it it.

That was last week. Gadget circuit sell it for almost the same price and Of course, it is gray market . ~~However, for $30 more, you can get it from Adorama with warranty.~~ Sorry, that one is used!

Thank you for the hint. What is the drawback with gray market offers? I am from Germany and prices are quite high over there...

You're welcome. Gray market usually means no warranty since most of the lenses come from other countries or from camera kits. In your case, gray market or not doesn't really matter so just go for the cheapest as long as it is from a trusted source. If you're buying locally it would differ.
