That's a good price. Elements does a lot. It benefits from lots of memory.

I already have CS6, not sure if I'll need this. But 45 is hard to pass up, I'll take my time thinking about it.

The only thing I don't like about it is it's a download. As a person who has had several hard drives crash and lose the programs that were on them, I'm thinking you'd end up having to buy another download as opposed to just popping a disk into dvd slot. Yes, I do back up my program files, but I've had issues there too.

How does that work? Did you get a serial number? If so couldn't one download the standalone installer from the adobe site?

I have the boxed version and that is what I did.. downloaded the trial and activated with the key.

Is Elements eventually going to go cloud only? This might be the last time you can get the full program on "disc".

I didn't see the disc - thought it was download only.

Where it says "PC/MAC" is the disc order.

Tom, I have LR4 and Elements 11 that I purchased on Amazon and downloaded back when they were a gold box bundle in 2012.
I just checked my old order via Amazon search and the download link is still available as is the activation code. I think I would have lost the disc or activation code if I had a physical copy!
Adobe are good at helping with upgrading from these too.

Good price..Thanks for the link Robtcorl

That's a very good price. Even after factoring the USD-CAD exchange, and import charge, it is still cheaper than the price on Amazon.ca. Clicked, and ordered!

I bought my disc when B&H had it for the same amount, a couple of months ago. Before this came out I was running ver. 11.

I have to confess that I have no idea what Elements can and cannot do.

This is matching Black Friday pricing.. if you want it, it doesn't come cheaper than this.

Can do
---------------------
A lot

Cannot do (vs Photoshop CC)
--------------------
Missing most of the batch processing and I think all of the scripting capabilities
Cut down ACR
Minimal 16-bit support
No 32-bit support
No merge to HDR
Minimal Vector tools
Cut down Content Aware
No Subtract or Divide blending modes

there are a few.

That said, it is still really quite powerful. It has full layer support, most of the color and lighting tools, and plugins support.

Version 13 of PSE gave us Windows users a 64-bit build. So if you have an older version of PSE on a 64-bit version of Windows, it might be worth that alone to upgrade to this.

There is a 3rd party add-on called Elements+ which brings back some of the functionality that is really present but hidden too.
