K 400/5.6 (Ex) on ebay

Would've much rather had this than the 3rd party ones that I picked up.

No description. Apparently no caps; no photos of glass; only one view - but the seller notes, "Buy from someone you can trust! In Mint Condition."

Theoretically a nice lens, but . . . . . .

Is the tryst included?

I had this lens for a while (well maybe not this very one). I bought it together with the A*300. I ended up keeping the 300 and flipping the 400.
It was ok, but pretty fringy and sharpness was so-so with my copy.

Which I take to mean... not from him.

Something about that lens didn't look right and I figured out what it is. It's a screw mount M42 that's been converted to a K mount.

The lens pretty much looks like the K 400/5.6 that is pictured in the lens review section.

Seems to have the original front cap in the pics.

Seller seems to have good/numerous feedback & Pentax also has an authorized dealer by that name in Texas. Too bad I have a Tokina & a Soligor 400/5.6 (as well as the Sigma 120-400 - is that too many 400s ) or I would've been all over it.

Look closely at the K400, then at the M42 version, especially the rear portion of the lens and you'll see it's a converted M42.

I own the 400/5.6 Tak, and I believe this lens is the K mount, if you look at the size of the ribs on the rear, the TAK has more smaller ribs while the K has fewer larger ribs. The pic looks like the K version to me. Only way to be sure ask the seller for a pic, or ask where it has aperture lever the seller should know he sells alot of camera gear.

You are right - for some reason I had reversed the picture labels. It is indeed a K mount and not a converted M42.

Disregard that man behind the curtain!

Can't vouch for the lens, but the seller is legit. I've been to their store - one of the largest in TX. I'm not a fan - they PUSH Canikon hard - not too big on Pentax.

I'm betting you'll see a bunch of bids come in the last 30 seconds of the auction.

The relisted auction. Lens could have been had for $150 (he says, kicking himself).
