D FA 50mm now just $280! · 01:42 PM

I didn't think the Pentax 50mm macro could go any lower, but B&H currently lists it for just 280.70!

In France no import duties for bodies but you have some for lenses. It might be the same in UK.

When I bought my K5 iis I had checked the UK Gov website and it led me to believe that there were no duties ( other than VAT ) to pay on all photographic equipment. I imported 2 lenses ( DA 50 and DA35 ) on the same order and the total seemed to agree with that.
I do remember that the VAT is payable on the whole price including shipping.
There may have been a small handling charge of about £9

Last week in the UK was a Pentax day when discounts were offered. I bought this lens and got the discount but it's still more expensive than the States.

Does anyone know if this lens is optically identical to the old FA 50 f/2.8 macro? I know that one was well thought of.
