A nice K-3 deal has just gone up at Adorama (free 50mm lens and flash + K-3 for $649.00):

Pentax K-3 DSLR Camera Body 15530

While the deal surely won't last, it's nice to finally get a break from the stubborn price tag of $749 at US authorized dealers.

I also got this deal. then a grip, extra battery for the grip, eneloope batteries, uv filter, and all came to around $870.

All of those together is still cheaper than buying in Finland body only. Difference is a friend is picking it for me in the US.

I dont need the lens and the flash. So I plan to trade it in for a Metz 58 version 2.

Best deal ever.

New to this community! Just wanted to ask if I should wait for a deal on the k3II or jump on this deal? I currently have k-50.

I doubt the K-3 II will be dropping this year to anything significant.. maybe another 100 off?

I think the bigger sale prices will be on these remaining K-3 (classic) in stock. I'm waiting to see if B&H give us a K-3 and grip for 500-550 on BF. I know nothing in advance, just hoping to see that.. If not, I'll too wait for the K-3 II prices to further lower (likely early next year). That said, with the FF delay I suspect anything is possible on price lowering to keep people in the mix.

Hey there again! I do see that. I told a local shop about the deal they said it was a steal. The only thing that I would enjoy from the k3II would be having and up to date camera prior to the FF. I been looking at this for the past week and well I already have the 50mm and a flash. I don't know if it would make huge diff at the same prints. The future wife would kill me since I just upgraded my laptop as well. She has told me plenty of times if you're going to get it, get it. One thing is that I don't want see it on BF and be all .... maaaaann I should of waited haha... at the same time I don't want to be mannnnn that was an amazing deal I should've gotten it!

Howdy again. That is the dilemma many of us are in.. should I stay or should I go now? haha

I'm waiting for BF. But I don't feel the need to HAVE to upgrade. The past couple of BFs at B&H have been stellar too. That is NOT to say this year will be assuredly the same. It is somewhat of a gamble.

If you're not a gambling kind of person.. this is a nice deal. Could sell the lens for 75 or so easy. probably 50-60 for the flash maybe? so 125 off. That makes it 525 essentially.... if you don't mind the hassle and find buyers.

Go for the K-3 IMO, the features in the K-3 II are very niche-oriented.

Doubt ill ever use the GPS.. and star tracking would be fun but I'm sure would rarely use... but who doesn't enjoy high resolution still scenes!

Ill wait it out till next Friday if its still there ill get it. My excuse to not waste more money that doesn't need to be wasted.

I made that jump earlier this year. My impression of the k3 is very positive. I have the k50 as backup. I considered the k3II but for me the lack of on camera flash was too limiting.

how much quieter is the shutter on the k3 versus k50?

I never hated the K50 shutter sound but it is undeniably louder. The K3 is very quiet. If I had a decibel meter I'd try to get that quantified. I don't startle when I switch from one to the other if that's what you are wondering. The K3 is significantly softer sounding as well as less loud.
