A nice K-3 deal has just gone up at Adorama (free 50mm lens and flash + K-3 for $649.00):

Pentax K-3 DSLR Camera Body 15530

While the deal surely won't last, it's nice to finally get a break from the stubborn price tag of $749 at US authorized dealers.

I ordered a set from this seller for my K10D. It has a screen protector for both the top LCD, as well as the main LCD. They are very sturdy, and look very professional.

Wow! Great price! Congratulations!

I'm definitely going to get the K3, just waiting for a few weeks, hoping a deal like Adorama's will still be available, or one close to it! Heck, I've even ordered a set of the ACMAXX hard LCD screens for a K3, so now I'm committed!
Carol just a little friendly advice. The K3 and K10D are completely different cameras. When I upgraded to the K3 from my K10D it was like learning a whole camera all over again. I have a hard time going back and using my K10D now. That is how different they are. I purchased the E-book for the K3 and that helped me out a lot. Almost a year later and I am still trying to figure this thing out.

Thanks Michael, I expect a big learning curve; however I always want to have a backup camera, so definitely will be keeping my K10D with such a low shutter count. I would expect to keep one lens on the K10; as I'm doing now with two bodies. If I didn't keep one backup body; if for some reason I had to send the K3 in to repair; then I wouldn't have any camera to use.

With a shutter count of 1800, camera in mint condition with the grip; I'd be very foolish to sell it, for what little it would bring.

In the good old film days; I had both a Nikon and a Canon at the same time; talk about a learning curve!

That is why I still have my K10D. The little bit I would get for it is not worth it to me. The body and grip are still in like new condition. You will really enjoy the K3. The jpegs are about the size of the raw files on the K10D. The raw files are huge, 30 megs each.

I'm hoping the Adorama deal here, lasts until I can get my K10D sold; I'm ready to pull the trigger then!

Wireless optical flash needs both units on the same channel and the off camera set to slave mode and the on board flash set to wireless master or controller.

When you buy the DA 50 it "Includes Free $19.95 New Leaf PLUS 3yr Lens Warranty" at Adorama.

Does the kit include this, too?

In that case you need another p-ttl flash that you can use as slave or master, or radio triggers.

Did not see it in the kit description nor in the DA 50 box nor the paperwork. Hope that helps.

Just spoke with Frank at Adorama and thought I'd let everyone know that they have about 50 units left of the K-3. This camera is discontinued so it will not be restocked. He also said they will most likely not drop the price, and if they do, they'll refund the difference if it's purchased within 30 days of the price drop.

In regards to the 50mm lens, it will be back in stock in 2-3 weeks. And the free New Leaf 3 Year warranty is included only if you purchase the lens separately. So not included in the K-3 deal.

And in general regarding the New Leaf warranty, the regular one for Parts and Labor can be purchased within 30 days of purchasing a camera. The Accidental Damage and Spills one can be purchased within 7 days of purchase, and that one also covers Parts and Labor.

So basically two weeks until the 27th to be within the 30 day window. I will wait and hope they are still in stock to purchase it.
