A nice K-3 deal has just gone up at Adorama (free 50mm lens and flash + K-3 for $649.00):

While the deal surely won't last, it's nice to finally get a break from the stubborn price tag of $749 at US authorized dealers.

Pentax 2 Year Extended Warranty for all current DSLR, Compact and Q Cameras. (Total Warranty 3 years - 1 Year Standard + 2 Years Additional) 85716 its says florida and commonwealth of virginia. As long as you arent those two, you should be fine.

I ordered the Extended Warranty one day after the camera kit.

Do I have to register it? www.us.ricoh-imaging.com/extendedwarranty is referenced on the card, but it leads to nowhere

I had the same question and asked Ricoh live chat. The rep said no registration required for warranty coverage, just proof of purchase when you need servicing.

I'm assuming that's proof of purchase of the extended warranty; not the camera? Seems strange that the extended warranty wouldn't have a place to register it. Just concerned, as next week I'm getting it for my new K3.

Carol keep your warranty card and original receipt. I would also print one out from Adorama as well. This is what you will need if you need servicing. You get one free camera cleaning with your warranty so you will be using it for sure.

As Michael posted, you should keep the original proof of purchase. Sorry that wasn't clear in my first post. There's no drawbacks to having all the original documentation in my opinion.

Been away from this site, and had been taking fewer pics over the last year or two. This sale got me all fired up, and I'll be holding the new K3 by next week. Particularly excited to see the improved low-light performance over the K20D.

My office has taken to having me shoot conferences and events. This should make an improvement on what I produce-- I justified the expense as 'career enhancement.' lol.

Be aware for anyone ordering this kit that the 50 F1.8 lens is on backorder. Adorama has no idea when it will become available again. It's been 2 weeks since my order arrived without the lens, and still no idea when it will be available & ship.
