great price! Ricoh must be clearing them out because the DA 16-85 is taking its place?

Has the SDM issue, especially at 50mm~70mm range, been fixed on this lens? If yes, I will grab one. THe image quality is great with this lens.

At what point was the SDM fixed on the DA* 16-50 and 50-135? I suppose any DA 17-70 made from that point on was fixed as well. I'd be tempted to jump on this at the price. But I already have the 20-40, 16-50 and 18-135.

Mine just arrived. It looks and feels awesome. It looks great on my K-5. Can't wait to get out and give it a good test.

I had one. It rolled out of my camera bag, onto a carpeted floor, a fall of about 6-12 inches. AF went wonky after that. Great lens - some of the best images I ever made with my K20D were crafted with this piece of glass. Wish it wasn't so terribly fragile.

I second that. It is a nice lens and one of my favorite first Pentax lenses. I sold mine and now am debating between this one and the 16-50 2.8.
I have had both of them and going back through my images I have found that I used my 17-70 most often.
