Samy's Ricoh $100 rebate on S1, K-50 & S2
Posted By: Oakland Rob, 11-01-2015, 01:46 PM

The $200 rebate on the K-3II has already been mentioned here, but I note that my rebate form shows $100 rebates on the cameras listed in the subject line. Sheesh, the K-50 with kit zoom is $249 after the rebate...I'm never gonna be able to sell my used one. The rebate is supposed available at other retailers via Promaster, but I never did find another one that honored the rebate besides Samy's. The offer ends 12/31.

I just bought a black K-50 from Samy's, including 18-55 WR DAL lens, and they're throwing in a $59 flash unit. With the $100 rebate, that makes this a great deal: $249 for new K-50, lens and flash. The website says they're out of stock (after you order, they tell you this), but in actuality, they have stock and are shipping within 2 days. Smokin'!
I have go to Samy’s (@ Pasadena, CA) to buy the K-50 in store on last Saturday (11/28).
But I just got K-50 + lens = $349.99 - $100.00 (rebate).
No Flash unit, but I think it’s still a good deal

When I bought it online, a message came up immediately saying that they were out of stock. So I telephoned, they answered immediately, were polite and professional, and the guy told me he thought they did have adequate stock and he would go check; he kept me on hold for several minutes, returned to say that they did indeed have stock, and for the confusion, they would throw in the flash. Great service. The Samy's store in Hollywood is amazing—four floors and a huge industry rental. Their Venice store is amazing too; the one in Culver City is a lot smaller, but well equipped. All in all, a class act. This will be the first thing I've bought from them online.

It seems they are still honoring the free flash deal if you mention it. I ordered online 12.1, and my order history did not show a flash unit. I decided to call this morning to see if I could get one added. The operator was not able to give me an answer since I called just after they opened at 6am and she needed to check with someone else, but I just received an email confirmation that the flash was being added to my order at no charge. When I called this morning they said the camera would most likely be shipping out today (12.3), so it does seem that they have stock, as fotograffiti was told. I will have to reserve final judgement until everything arrives, but so far Sammy's seems to be a good place to shop.

Flash included with K-50, sorry for any confusion. I believe the K-S1 deal is over, last I checked they were no longer advertising the K-S1 on their website.

Yeah. They're definitely out of stock for the K-S1.

I received the Promaster rebate check for $200. Today. That makes it $650. For a K3ii , flu card and, battery grip.

Just spent it and more for the 60-250 at B&H. They had it at $877.

Still waiting for Samy's to drop the price back down to $850 ($650 after rebate). I just hope it happens before the end of the month when the rebate ends.

Got my $200 rebate today...woot! Thanks Promaster and Ricoh! That's roughly 30-40 days turnaround.

Too bad you missed Adorama's deal of $649 for the K-3, the 50mm f/1.8 lens, and a 200 flash unit. It ended an hour before I pushed the button to buy it (price is now $100 higher). You could have sold off the extra gear and had a new body for $500.

Yeah, I debated that deal for quite some time. Indeed a great deal if you can get $150 for the 50mm and flash. I was figuring probably closer to $100 but still a great deal. For me, I want to do some astrophotography so the K-3 II just seems to fit better. If I had gotten the K-3 for $500-$550 after selling the flash and 50mm, I would still need to pick up an OGPS which puts the cost right back around the $650 price point of the Samy's deal on the K-3 II after rebate when they had it on sale before.

Maybe with Christmas coming up, we'll see some more deals. I missed the K-S2 package at Costco by two days (waiting for my paycheck), and then missed the K-3 deal at Adorama by an hour (I was chicken). I've settled for a new K-50 in the meantime at a smokin' price (if Samy's ever ships it)... I've already got a camera with a 20mp Sony sensor, so the K-50 will have some competition; but at least I'll be able to play with all my legacy lenses.

Still gunning for that K-3.
