Warning: modified by a Canonista. Looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet.

ISo, I am of the mind that it is done working properly on a Pentax body unless someone has a junk copy of that with a pristine aperture lever lying around. The nub is way too short to each the aperture linkage inside a Pentax body, I believe, from looking at my lenses and mounts.
Not true at all. Without an aperture lever, it works like an M42 lens in AV mode. Some--including myself--find this preferable to using the green button.

I hadn't thought of that. I would prefer that, too.

I'm one of those, too (as evidenced by my K 135/2.5 "siblings" above).

However, if the short lever is OK for the buyer, then the buyer must judge the lens' other flaws and decide...

However, getting back to the "stub" of what's left of the aperture lever, wouldn't it also be possible to attach an "extension" to it (by soldering or brazing or welding or "something"), to mimic the original shape and length of a normal aperture lever? (One could even cut off the "extension" from a junk K-mount lens, no?)

Possibly, but you'd never have the same tensile strength. Also, there's be a risk of differential metal interaction (though admittedly low.) And if the joint did not hold and broke during an image, you'd have a loose piece of metal flying around inside your shutter box when the shutter and mirror are actuating.

I e-mailed the seller to ask if this lens would still work on a Pentax body. It's been four days, I think, and I've heard nothing. That's disappointing.
I emailed the seller yesterday and asked the same question. Crickets.
(just noticed this thread today)

Without a functional Aperture Lever, this lens would be big $$$ junk mounted on my K2 or LX or ...

Well, I guess it just sold -- the auction ended and it now shows up in a search for sold items -

I do wonder what the buyer was looking for the most in this lens...
