Posted By: Adam, 11-26-2015, 07:18 PM

B&H has some nice deals on Pentax flashes this week:

Pentax AF540FGZ II Flash ($362 - $267 off)

Pentax AF360FGZ II Flash ($279 - $140 off)

The old non-weather sealed model is also very cheap:

Hello Adam,

Thanks very much for the offerings. Besides the model numbers of #1 & #2, what is the difference between them? I mean they look identical.

Thanks for your assistance.

The 540 is a more powerful flash. Feature-wise they are the same.

They are identical except for the amount of light they put out at full-power. The 540 puts out a little more than twice the light of the 360.

A rough conversion of the guide numbers into feet for this metric-challenged American gives me 120 and 180. So for instance if the smallest aperture you could use with the 360 was f12, you could shoot at f18 with the 540.

If you're on the fence, I have the 540 and wouldn't shoot an outdoor portrait session with anything less powered.

That's good to know, jab. Thanks for the input.

The deal ends tonight so I decided to get a new 540. I have two older 540's so I can sell one of those. I never liked how big the older 540 was. The newer model is supposed to be smaller.
