30% off used lenses at KEH
Posted By: willskywalker93, 11-27-2015, 09:16 AM

I'm surprised that no one has posted this yet, but KEH is having a good sale today. 20% off used cameras, 30% off used lenses, and 50% off used accessories. I just scored a like-new BigmOS at 30% off, so I felt like it was a deal worth sharing. They still have an EX condition BigmOS if anyone else wants to join in on the fun

https://www.keh.com/

Use coupon code BLACKFRIDAY. Does not apply items with existing overstock discounts.

I also just found out that for all items excluded from the black friday sale (such as the overstocked DA* 16-50), you can apply code AF44196 at checkout for 10% off and free shipping over $49.99. That being said, I just snagged a bargain condition DA* 16-50 for right at $300 USD shipped. There are several better quality ones left for anyone interested, I figured I could afford to take a chance on the bargain one. Worst case scenario I end up converting it to screw drive or sending it back.

What I find interesting is that KEH has a FA 300mm f4.5 listed on ebay but it's not listed on their web site. Would be nice to get that lens for 30% off.

Which is probably why they have it on eBay and not the main site.

I picked up a DA 21 limited in EX+ condition for $230 and free shipping. Without the 30% discount the price was too high. I wanted the SMC version over the HD one for the starbusts. Interested to see how well I like it. At least with Keh I know I can return it if I don't, unlike buying from ebay.

I picked up some overpriced B+W filters for a more normal price of 50% off. Some are only $11 and change.

Please THOROUGHLY test it. I bought a cheap 16-50mm off of ebay and discovered it doesn't focus at infinity. Shooting inside my living room didn't show the issue. And so I thought it was OK and didn't return. Only after the return period did I realize it had focus issues.

Cost to repair is at minimum 206.50 USD so you want to get that right off the bat.

Thanks much for the reminder about infinity, forgot all about that! I also have recently acquired one of those lenses.

I end up purchasing a FA* 24 (ex) and FA43 (ln) for $350 each. So far the best deal I could find. Any opinions?

KEH at it's best. A film lens I considered on Black Friday was priced at $268 less 30% or $187.60 Today that same lens is 35% off; however, the price is now $309 or $200.85 after discount. Cyber Monday 35% off is a joke.

This is standard practice for any retailer. The dirty secret is that prices before discount price almost always goes up prior to sales like Black Friday or Cyber Mondays. There has been numerous coverage on this both on television and print . Do a search through your favorite search engine.

As far as it having a higher net price Monday vs Friday as the saying goes "If you snooze you lose".

On a brighter side, the Sigma 17-35 is now 120 dollars with the discount. (I'd buy it if it was the Tamron, the Sigma's too soft and "glowy" wide open).

But who believes that the normal price for the Tamron 17-50 is almost 400 dollars? They're really stretching it with that one
