There's also a photo of a silver HD DA 40 on a black K-5IIs in the HD Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited review on the forum:

The silver lens attracts a little more attention on the black body (makes it stand out from the Canikon crowd). I now have a stone gray K-S2 that looks very smart with the silver lenses (in my opinion).

Wow, actually looks kinda sharp... I've been trying to put off buying one of these... but you guys keep making it more and more tempting.

I bought a silver DA 21 f3.2 for my black K20D and I am fine with it. It was the same situation, awesome price on the silver version, $30 less that the black one so I couldn't resist. With a black filter screwed into the front it is a pretty cool look IMHO. I am not at home, but will try to remember to post a photo of it this evening...

Personal opinion - I had a silver one, and I really didn't like it on my black K-5IIs.

I have a silver FA43 and I really don't care how it looks on my K-3 but it does look pretty sharp on my K-2.

Wow.. I bought used for this price and it hurts to see this price for a new lens.

This is an HD version. I own and prefer the SMC, but this is a pretty great deal on new -- and it's cool looking in SILVER!!

I bought a silver lens for my K-50 body and have been doing some landscapes and street photography. Am pretty sure the looks I get are 0.1% because of the color mismatch and 99.9% because of people wondering about the weird guy taking photos of them! 😜

On a more serious note, IMHO the lens quality is what matters than the looks.

High five!

I just picked it up. You see, I had been subtly suggesting to my wife that I wanted the 15 Ltd for Christmas. Talk of flare resistance and wide-angle mostly produced glazed over looks of acquiescence. However, the reveal of this ridiculously low price for a brand new lens led her to a quick tap of the keys...and it's mine.

I feel this will go pretty well with my 40mm Ltd.
