True, perhaps, but Pentax, in contrast, cannot be making much of a profit on a K-3 or a K-3 II, both of which are often selling for only 50% (or less) more than this TC often goes for.

Want it but feel like it will be cheaper sometime in the future. Willing to wait. Most times I buy lenses I buy too soon and kick myself later after seeing all the sweet deals.

I'm assuming because of the DA designation that it's not for full frame.

That's been my assumption, too, but I don't know. It's not designated as a a "D FA" TC, after all.

However, the PF in-depth review ( https://www.pentaxforums.com/reviews/pentax-da-14x-aw-af-rear-converter/conclusion.html ) did say,

"We mounted the converter on a film body and did not notice any particular vignetting in the viewfinder with lenses 20mm or longer. This is not to say that the converter will be usable in practice with a full frame DSLR should Pentax release one, since firmware could prevent its use."

So, I dunno...

Actually there are four elements in 3 groups. Low volume item with high manufacturing tolerances and specialized glass.
