Just noticed that it no longer says 'Offer Ends Dec. 31st 11:59 EST' but is still at $359.57. Hope this deal is here to stay and I can buy it when I have the funds

Can't believe that it's dropped to $359 now...such a great deal.

I'd rather prefer the non-DC version, to be safe

Great price on that lens. I really liked mine, but I must admit the Sigma 70mm Macro 2.8 is a good alternative if you can find one in a Pentax mount.

Doubt it, though I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see a D FA* 150mm or 200mm macro in the future.

Tempting

I started with the 2 kit lenses (18-55mm and 50-200mm) after I got my K-50. I wanted a nice walk-around prime so I immediately got a DA 40mm Ltd and have been using that most of the time. This Christmas, I received a brand new DA 15mm Ltd to cover my wide angle needs and appreciate the challenge of using it effectively. I've been very tempted by the Pentax 18-135mm as a higher quality replacement for the 18-55mm lately (it's also been relatively inexpensive at $270) but now I also see this as an opportunity for this to add a macro lens to my collection. However, it's another prime and I'm not sure if that's the way to go. As I experiment more and grow as a photographer, will I like the flexibility of the zoom or the quality of a macro lens at a nicely spaced focal length from my other primes?

You have two zooms already, why would you want to add another zoom?

For a lens with better image quality and faster IF focusing. I could sell the 18-55mm as well.

Replace your 18-55 with the Sigma 17-50 2.8 ? It's $419.00 right now ! All the reviews on that lens are very good ....
