Advanced Photography Course WITH Diploma
Posted By: Ron_Man, 01-14-2016, 08:04 AM

I'm not sure if this is location based only (if it is then Mods please adjust).

http://www.livingsocial.com/deals/1564084-advanced-diploma-in-photography-photoshop-course

EDIT: I did buy one too and if you share a provided personal link and 3 others buy it then your course is free. Wasn't sure if posting my personal link for that was okay in the Forum so I just did a direct link to the deal instead

Nice!

I recently started taking my photography to a new level and this will help me in terms of starting a photography business and hopefully a career? *fingers crossed*

Anybody got any clue if it's any good and how it works?
I've never ever heard of 'coursesforsuccess' before.

I guess I'll have to find out since i bought it. I was going to check it out either tonight or over the weekend.

What really sucked me in was the business topics they cover since I've already started a business with photography. Figured I'll get whatever resources I can and stay current. Probably won't care too much either way about the basics of photography or photoshop they cover since I use LR almost exclusively. Still doesn't hurt to learn I guess.

True, I'm sure there are some good things in it!

From the looks of it however their 'diploma' means nothing..

Probably to most photographers sure. I imagine I'd hang it up on a wall in my office or something and if a client questions any of my photography knowledge I know where to point? Lol

I figured my photos should speak for themselves but you never know in some cases

Interesting. No real reviews on their site, only positive praise. That alone makes me leery of it. Which is too bad, the price is quite low.

Agree with Topsy though, the diploma is worthless in any meaningful sense, although promoting it as one of your personal qualifications can't really hurt.

I buy things from Livingsocial every now and then.. at least I haven't been screwed over yet. That's a plus.

The course description contains much Chinglish and typos:

Setting your dioptre
Adjusting your burst mode
Adjusting your white balance settings
Metering settings
Exposure compensation mode
What is histogram and how to use it
How you camera is focusing

It will be interesting to hear from the course participants. Seems like a good value if it's intelligible, but the course site has only a 68% approval rating on LivingSocial. Some courses are bound to be better than others. Hope this is one of the better ones!

Agree the typos are a bad sign.

Also, a large part of the course seems to be about using Photoshop . For those who don't, like myself, and have no intention of ever doing so, this may be a waste of money.
