Got mine 3 years ago, not anything I would go hitch hiking with. But it is amazingly sharp. The Pentax M100/4macro is more mobile...

Glade I didn't see it before someone took it, I have no resistance to this lens, I know it, although I have way too may macros already :-)

actually, that is a pretty good assessment of the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 APO Ex DG - it isn't quite in the same league as the FA*200mm f/4 ED macro. I know this, I own both lenses.

Pentax K5IIs - Sigma 180mm f/3.5 APO EX DG @ f/16 ISO 400 1/180th - Godox AD180 flash @ 1/8th power.

doesn't make much difference if it's Macro or not, if it's got a short enough focal distance, you're good to go. I've been known to use a 100-300 and 1-4TC this way... but the 180 is the one I really want.

You do know that there are two different FA* 200mm lenses right?

The F/2.8 is not a macro. The F/4 is...and a somewhat legendary one at that...
