Just noticed this free shipping offer, which they say is for celebrating Australia Day. Free shipping is always good when you can get it :-)

I just ordered a Sirui T-025X and a Domke bag - free postage even for that large package! I was unaware of the deal, but very happy to take it

I took advantage of it to. Bought myself a 55-300 zoom. Have been looking since before Christmas, was umming & ahing about what to buy. The price is good, even once converted to Oz dollars & the free postage sealed the deal. Now to wait for it.... :-)

Hmm, about $A1200 for a DA*300 against $1500 in Oz ...

No local warranty though. Would cost plenty to send to US for repair.

...and it is unlikely that Ricoh USA would honor the warranty unless you were able to provide a U.S. return address. Unless something has changed, the US warranty is limited to product purchased from authorized dealers within the U.S. and where the item is in the US at the time of claim.

+ taxes for any import over A$1,000. Possibly not really worth to consider.

I may suggest to approach Pentax Australia and ask if they will match the B&H price (incl. shipping). Worth to try...

That's why I ordered my HD DA55-300 from C.R.Kennedy, despite the slightly higher price. Plus they have a local office. I learnt that lesson with my K-S1
Less of a risk with a bag and a tripod.

Now that's a trap. No warranty coverage from either Ricoh Australia and Ricoh US. (Ricoh Australia are very clear that they won't cover parallel imports: https://pentax.com.au/support/parallel-grey-imports )

Well, fingers crossed but I've not had problems with purchases needing repairs/warranty. I guess it's a risk, but I also have access to someone who can do repairs if needed

My understanding is that Ricoh, Japan will cover with any import or export fees being your responsibility. A third-party warranty may be your best option.

Awesome deal. Just bought some heavily reduced carbon fibre sticks (tripod and monopod).

Thanks B&H

Can someone smarter them me please set me straight with the whole buying from B&H from Australia as i'm really confused how they can sell pentax stuff that C.R Kennedy say has no warranty? Where does B&H warranty and Pentax US or Aus warranty stand and how does it all work?

I read the link Des put up from that C.R Kennedy.. I always thought that was a scare campaign to stop people buying from overseas etc.. as i thought B&H would have had warranty as they are selling it? I just can't get my head around why B&H would sell brands like pentax etc.. if there is zero warranty?

Can someone please explain it for me

Thanks heaps!
