Pentax DA 560mm f/5.6 ED AW Lens for $3,771.49 at Overstock
Posted By: EssJayEff, 02-06-2016, 06:39 AM

The Pentax DA 560mm f/5.6 ED AW at Overstock currently has a price tag of $3,771.49. That seems like a pretty decent price . . . especially compared to B&H and Adorama at $4,997. That's even less than a used lens price ($4000) rated Condition Level 10 at B&H. Only five left as of time of this post.

Overstock lists the "Country of Origin" as China. Is that the place of manufacture or location of Overstock's supplier? Any cautionary flags waving for anyone?

That seems like a good price - in US $ I think that is under $3600 at toady's exchange rate. Their current eBay price in $US is 3999
Prodigital seems to have a solid rating - have you bought from them?

Yes I bought my HD TC 1.4x from them when it launched, and I got a cery good competitive price, and they are very dependable to reply to my emails... Good communication!

I've also had good experience with prodigital2000, my k5iis body was from them last year. Nothing of the magnitude of a da560 or cross border though. As I understand it they are the ebay division of "Carmen's Foto Source", which has a few physical stores in Ontario.

Thank you for the feedback. I plan to buy the Pentax 150-450 in the this year for a trip to the Everglades in a year. I feel the zoom will work better shooting in a kayak than the Sigma 500.

I very much doubt it. I checked Adorama this week and they only had one 560 in stock for $4999 and B&H shows that they have to order it. I think one time a year ago Adorama offered the 560 for $4500 but I might be wrong. I would like to order one but am a little worried about ordering from outside the country. But Canada is VERY tempting! ;-)

I've ordered from Canada before and the only thing is some extra time on shipping.

Amazon has it too: http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-PENTAX-560mm-Super-Telephoto-22180/dp/B009931O5...5.6+ed+aw+lens

Canada, I am not worried about. It's the huge purchase from China that concerns me. The Amazon link you posted is sold by Electronics Basket. A bunch of bad reviews over them if you google their name.

That's where my 150-450 came from. The shipping was fast, communication good, and I've enjoyed the lens. It is also backed by the Amazon guarantee.

I've also used Overstock before with no problems. I think they simply put China. Of course hopefully if you used them you wouldn't get a ceiling fan.

Did you look at their Amazon Feedback? 22,775 lifetime feedbacks at 97% positive, 1% Neutral, 2% Negative.

I'd chance it.

I wonder what percentage of those positive feedbacks were from individuals spending over $3,000??
