Looks like an A* 135 1.8 for $800
Posted By: Clinton, 02-24-2016, 07:50 AM

Read it carefully, it says focus is not good, and calls it a "2.8" while all the images are for the 1.8.

I'm this close to pulling the trigger. That lens would look mighty fine in silver....

Congratulations! As for silver, I think it looks great in black.

Maybe he didn't realize it wasn't an auto focus lens or that he needs glasses?

Dag nabit, I've been looking for that lens! Well, congratz, but you've got to post a picture once you anodize it.

I am assuming that infinity adjustment is off or there is a helical issue. Whatever the problem, I'll fix it while I have it apart for the re-finish.

Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here?

Well done! Looking forward to the pics.

I was sorely tempted to pull that trigger
But ... I have just received back, from dcshooter, a freshly CLA'd Tamron SP 180mm-F2.5 prime.
Did I really need another lens in this focal length neighborhood? One that would need some work?

BTW, The Tamron looks and performs beautifully now. It had stiff & jerky focus action that dcshooter fixed. DCshooter also cleaned out some fungus inside I had not noticed. The view through the lens, via Pentax K2 viewfinder, is bright, clear and sharp. I'm really looking forward to getting the film I shot at a local Japanese Garden back from developing.

Thanks dcshooter !

That's really a nice lens if it's A135 1.8. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Well, the lens is in my hands. Looks like it's been worked on before (which the seller didn't bother to disclose). Hopefully once I get it open, I can figure out what the focus issue is. Right now, it's looking to me like a re-cemented element that is mis-aligned.

Fun.

(In a demented sort of way ;~) You performed wonders on my Adaptall 400/4 though so there's hope.

If you can fix it I think it's still a great deal considering they are selling for ~$2600.
