This item is no longer available. HUGE thanks to zzaletel for putting this in the deals!

The charger doesn't go with the camera. It's a 109 charger, rather than 190.
The lens on the camera was a 50mm f1.8 plastic, lens cap appears to have lumps of dried baby food in the cracks and crevices. Glass seems clear.
The 50-200mm WR zoom appears fairly clean, but no front cap.

The camera works, battery is fully charged which raises a mystery over the charger they had. Going to have to test it fully, but it does take images and record them to the included 16GB card.

Pretty decent pawn shop, small, but really friendly people. LOTS of pink automatic and revolver pistols for sale. Apparently those are pawned more often than black ones?

haha, congrats on the deal!
I hope everything gets cleaned up and you end up happy with the purchase!

Amazes me how some people just don't take care of their stuff...

OMG.... just checked the shutter count.

The slow 16GB card had some pics from last year of the interior of what looks like a college apartment. Five bikes on a holder in the living room. Books and backpacks. A couple other shots around the apartment with nothing of interest and no people. Sofa, sink. bleh.

The shutter count is 19, including 4 images I took at the pawn shop. I almost feel like I've died and gone to heaven.

P.S. For the test shots, I used "P" for "Professional," thanks to Ken Rockwell's great explanation of camera settings!* Thanks Ken.

As long as you didn't format the SD card already, you could run an SD image recovery software such as this Free SD Card Data Recovery Software to recover deleted files - EaseUS to get an idea who/how used your 'new' camera.

I got a K-r off of ebay last year around this time and it had an SD card in it. Found images seemingly of the old Pentax warehouse in CO complete with a worker making a PB sammich. haha.

Hey ZZ...

I'm just curious. Your profile says Alaska, but this was a Craigs List in Mesquite (Dallas) Texas.
How did you happen to run across it?
I was going to offer you the 50-200mm, but your equipment list looks pretty thorough already.

THANKS! Thank you, thank you!

doh. missed this post. That's rather incredible if it only had 15 shots on it. Guess someone got it as a gift, didn't really want it, and decided to hock it for some quick money?

Btw.. just to be safe.. you may also want to check the serial to ensure it wasn't stolen. lol.

Scanned the card, nothing else on it. Checked the serial numbers, not stolen. Pawn shops have to turn in their serial numbers to the police before an OK to sell them, so likely not stolen. Looks like some college-kid overspending and recouping money. Most likely, anyway. One photo has a K-50 owner's manual on the bed, so that's likely where the battery charger got switched. And maybe he/she decided that one DSLR was enough? Anyway....

I am up in Alaska, but have family and travel plans around various places - so I'll peruse further afield from time to time and pass the savings along to you.
