Sounds like a decent price and it is a sharp lens. It sure is a brute. Guess you have seen this picture.

Throw in a 50/2 and save 10% also! Roberts is a great place to shop for random deals and returns are easy. That's quite a lens, hadn't seen it before.. sort of like Croc Dundee's knife

It does look enticing.... but it's as long as your arm. Does it come with a top mounted scope? And how much reach do you have to have to get to the focus ring. Does your arm get tired if you have to constantly adjust focus? And how rigid does your tripod have to be to lock it in place. I'm used to placing my subject at the top of the frame and having the camera drop, when let go of the focusing ring. Sometimes it takes me 5 tries to get the A-400 where I want it for framing, because Ihave to anticipate how far the lens will drop when Ilet go and I'm shooting on a 2 second delay.

I have questions. I get tired and sore manually focusing my A-400. This looks worse. But 600mm and ƒ6.3 sounds sweet.

I think that is a reasonable price. I love manual focus and the K series lenses. I read one reviewer's post and the pictures were great. Would love to have the extra money to pull the trigger on this.

I'd have to hire someone to carry it for me!

Yeah, but the truth is I wouldn't use it--I have better (read "more expensive") lenses in that range--but it's not a bad deal for someone who wants long on the cheap.

But it's just.so.cool!

I'd be tempted to just have it stood vertically on a display stand in my dining room, as a conversation piece. It's magnificent... and... AND.... FF compatible!!!!

That lens is longer than my drawer is wide.

Thankfully.
