Are Benro pretty solid tripod choices? No reviews on B&H or Amazon.

Think the lowest cost one is usable enough?
I would have gotten the $99 for the extra load capacity but it is sold out...: FTF29AIN1 Travel Flat Series 2 Aluminum Tripod with IN1 Ball Head

I have a Benro carbon fiber one (not this version) and its pretty solid, when I bought it it doesn't come with ball head. So no comment on Ball head, which I think is more important than tripod.

For myself I am waiting for deal on the Sirui travel tripod, as the Benro combo kit that I have is about 3.5lb, would like the Sirui less than 2lb option for backpacking.

I have Sirui travel tripod, but prefer to go out with heavier Manfrotto MKC3 tripod (2.6lb). I found Sirui to be too light.
Going to try heavier Benro for $89.95 to compare with Sirui and Manfrotto.

This Benro should be pretty good.
The Benro that I have comes with center column (unlike this one), so the minimum height is not enough... Sirui minimum height is also a feature I would like to have. Wanna do a trade?

WOW!
I stepped out for my lunch break and both of the 17.6lb capacity models sold out!

So much for posting this deal here... I missed out of the tripod I wanted. haha!
Really though, I hope some of you PF community members scored on these.

The 13.2lb model isn't gonna cut it for me, plus the minimum folded length is a bit long for my needs.

I should have jumped on that... carbon fiber tripod with ballhead under $200 was a steal

Yeah yeah yeah. hahaha
I see there is still that Feisol in the marketplace. Might have to jump on that. (if someone else buys that before I do, well let's just say I'm better at marketing that I thought)

I have a very nice carbon fiber Induro monopod, but my $30 ravelli tripod needs to go. I don't even feel safe putting my K-3ii on it anymore...

Just received the tripod, and the plate on ball head is not removable (how can I put it on camera?), the logo on ball head is missing. Will call them tomorrow about replacement, most likely return since it was discontinued.

Just received the tripod too and it took me a few minutes to understand how the plate gets removed from the support ( different from my Siui ballhead ).

Actually, you have to turn the knob on the support ( the one closest to the plate and with the indication ' safety' ) counterclokwise . When it reaches itx max, you PULL on it and continue turning counterclokwise. This will open up the platform support and free the plate.

Give another try as it seem a very sturdy tripod with a solid ballhead.

Cheers

One more thing I just noted ; in the carrying bag there is a small zipper that includes accesories ( steel extension and wrench PLUS the INSTRUCTIONS!! well hidden in there....

So all good now I hope ?

How far you can you turn that knob? Mine turns only 15-20min (90-100 degrees only), mission impossible to release the plate any way I've tried.
Also, do you have a blue logo on the head? Mine is missing.

I have a tiny blue logo on the head, yes.

You turn the knob until it block, not much actually. But it does not end up there. Once it blocks, PULL it towards you and keep turning . It will release the plate even more so that you can take it off the ballhead.

Cumbersome but actually a security measure probably to avoid the know being turned too far accidentally and releasing the plate...

Finally it worked, thanks! Why the heck they decided to do that?
But where is my logo?
