$1449 was the original US launch price, so no change there. Blame the high value of the dollar for the seemingly low prices

I really hope for price drop. But I can kind of see why they're charging premium on this lens.
There's no good FF wide zoom.
I wish the price comes down little bit. So I can sell my sigma 8 16 for this lens. Maybe around $1099?

Oops, sorry for the mistake, I thought it was announced at 1699$ too!
Seems even Apple can't compete with Ricoh's $ / € exchange rate ^^!

I think right now all we have is the old Sigma 12-24mm. Is that right?

If you are tight on budget, I recommend Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4.0. It is not likely in the same league but a wide lens that is FF and proves itself on my K-5

It is a dependable and consistent lens that I love even in aps-c use. It is not common lens that you find on eBay but you are on tight budget and don't mind having a 'follow interest' on ebay, this one should come in the range of $175 to $275.

Cheers,
Hin

How did you pick $1,099? Why 25% less?

I wonder how the Tamron 17-35 stacks up vs the Sigma 17-35? I know the Sigma picks up flare quite easily, but I used it quite a bit on a k20. I was happy with it at the time until the DA12-24 came along.

New pentax 15 30 is rebadged tamron 15 30, which is $1190 in canon or nikon mount with vc.
I've been looking for Pentax 20 35.
No luck so far.😞
