Rough looking lens and the seller will only drop $500 to $8500 US. This lens is still on Ebay (8/16/2016), 7 months later. There is another one that came on Ebay recently and is still unsold:
Pentax FA 250 600mm Supertelephoto Zoom Lens | eBay

Curious.....Did anyone see this lens when it came on Ebay last week?......sold for $6000.

I did a Google search and came up with a 1989 Popular Photography Magazine page showing the lens selling at B&H for $5749. In 1994, Smile Photo had it for $6400.

Huge money back then. Approximately the price of an engagement ring today. And they seem to have a good value if the lens is selling for the same approximate price as the late 80's and early 90's.

For a second I thought I saw $57.49. Haha wouldn't that be something. But thank you for looking that up. Still a big chunk of change for '89 but taking that into consideration I feel like the eBay lens is fairly priced.

Considering there are no new parts due to it being long discontinued (and thus not supported by authorized repair) it is a bit of a gamble now.. and it isn't as if one can buy a spare broken one and use those parts since they are so rare.

Yes I agree at $9k it is definitely a gamble. Owning one would require some extra special attention.
