Original version of Sigma 70-200/2.8 at B&H, $400
Posted By: volosong, 04-20-2016, 12:35 PM

t's the original version. I have this very lens and have not had any adverse effects using it on my digital bodies. It's one of the lenses that I'm going to have buried with my old, worn out body; so I can use it the next life. $400 is a pretty good price! Rated "condition 9". If I didn't have one, I'd jump all over this.

Used Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-200mm f/2.8 EX APO IF 567109 B&H

Yep, it's the one I have. Love the lens. Especially after Sigma fixed a minor problem and then serviced the lens to boot (for free).

The DG version is supposed to have better coatings but both are sharper than the more modern models.

I got it. Thanks for posting this. Hopefully my wife's not going to kill me. Last week a K-S2 for my daughter and this week a new lens. Well at least we can share.

Congrats. Glad I could help feed your LBA. It's a good lens. Never saw the need to get the DG version because I never had any light reflection issues. I always used the hood, so that might, at least partially, be why. It's a handsome lens too. You won't be disappointed. Used mine for high school sports often, and the local weekly newspaper published a few shots every week.

If your daughter is still young enough . . . still in the 'play' mode, you will find the extra focal length gives you more of a stand-off, and she and her play companions will act more natural, forgetting that you are there. You should be able to get some good, candid shots.
