Adorama email with K-1 for 1449.95?
Posted By: rrstuff, 05-10-2016, 10:33 PM

The website still shows $1800. i am wondering if this is a sign of prices to come, or just an error?
Looks quite intentional... no matter if true or not.

That's definitely just a typo. I wouldn't expect the K-1 to drop in price anytime soon.

I wouldn't either, but they would need a couple of typos to go from $1,796.95 to $1495.95, which made me think it's either a click bait or an ad released too early.

It's also not ready to ship either, ironically. Something's telling me the lens should have been there

(Mods, we badly need a grinning devil and an angry devil smilie; I know I've seen them around, and heaven knows they're justified from time to time. Also a headdesk or facepalm one.)

I tried adding it to my cart this morning as well, thinking I scored big. After my coffee its time to go cut the lawn and forget about the one that got away! Sad... maybe even a bit cruel!

Well technically they are responsible for the errors . . . who else would have made them? They just are not responsible for honoring pricing errors.

Under commercial law as I understand it in Commonwealth countries, an advertised price is an invitation to treat and will not be binding on the advertiser where there is genuine error. Reputation harm is another issue. Note I said genuine error, I' m not extending what I am saying to deliberate misrepresentation of the terms and conditions of the offer. Their wording of the 'out' could be a bit better I would agree.

At a guess, this error has been caused by a design grid issue. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience - or over-excitement - caused

I had to click on the link in my email even though a K-1 is neither a need or in my budget at the present. Suffice it to say, I was pleasantly disappointed

Price was not honored.

Spoke to them. They do not want to honor the price in their own email promotion. Lame.
I was nearly thinking this price is game changing market disrupting.

Are we sure the e-mail the OP received wasn't a spoof/phishing communication?

spoof/phishing communication
1. It did not have any attachments
2. It did not take me to a website that asked for my login password or SSN or any confidential information
3. It took me to the product page with the correct (incorrect) price.
4. It did not ask me for any information besides showing me the product page.

Spoof - may be
Phishing - doesn't look like it
Goof - for sure.
