Very Last Chance for KatzEye Focusing Screens ("Final Production Run")

Going Out of Business
Final Production Run!
[...] As of May 9, 2016, we have a very limited amount of remaining material and are preparing to produce our final batch of screens, before closure of the business. What this means is that we will take orders until the final batch is sold out, and then begin to produce the screens to fill those orders. Until the batch is sold out, your order will be held in queue, to be processed in sequence, once production begins. [...]
It would be nice to have most of the last ones going to Pentaxers, and not to all the "riff-raff".

Ordered. Thanks for the heads-up! Missed it the last time it was "Final". This time it's REALLY final.

See "Metering Information" under "Product Details" under "Additional Information" at Pentax K-3 K-5, K-5II, K-7, K-30, K-50 & K-500 KatzEye Focusing Screen for a K-3, etc.

If you're thinking about it, don't think twice!

It didn't affect the metering much at all by me, I even felt it got more accurate. (it never really was very accurate on my k50)

Might have been silly to do so as I usually use fast glass anyway, but I added the OptiBrite option. I don't think there's much downside.

Ordered mine for my K-3. I'm really sad to see them go, I was looking forward to getting a Katzeye for the K-1, but it seems that wasn't going to be an option anyway.

I've wanted one for quite a while so I pulled the trigger finally. Thanks for the heads-up, Fred.

Ugh, I just ordered one yesterday from focusingscreen.com. I thought Katz Eye was already done and final.

Is Katzeye better than focussingscreen, com. I am pretty new to focussing screens. Forgive me if this was an obvious question.

FocusingScreen is repurposing screens made for Canikon's and cutting them to fit (!) if I understand correctly (and it's entirely possible I don't). They also don't have an option similar to Optibrite.
If so IMHO Katzeye's build to fit screens should perform better

Katzeye are more expensive, but they are supposedly a lot brighter in the viewfinder.
