A classic -- Asahi 200/3.5 Takumar preset
Posted By: ripper2860, 06-01-2016, 08:07 PM

For the vintage glass lover!! A very nice Asahi Takumar 200/3.5 preset with case. L>ooks lik eit may have the Tripod collar, but since I cannot see the silver knob that secures the collar, can't tell for sure. It's a reputable eBay seller from which I've purchased a couple of lenses. Seems like a fair price and if I didn't already own, it I would likely strike!! BTW -- did I mention it has an 18 blade aperture diaphragm!

I agree it appears to have the tripod collar but not the clamp bolt. Anyone know if this tripod collar is shared with any other Takumar models?

I have this lens and I love love LOVE it. It's probably my favorite manual lens. It's relatively big and heavy by Takumar standards, though.

K-5, Takumar 200mm f/3.5, probably at f/8 or so.

Seller confirmed that there is a SCREW in place and that the tripod collar is securely mounted. One gotcha -- the knob to the crew is missing, so that is why it is not showing in the images.

There's a 200/3.5 in the Marketplace: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/24-photographic-equipment-sale/321766-sal...hood-caps.html

I doubt if the collar is the same as other Takumars. The 300/6.3 and 300/4 have different collars, even though of apparently similar diameter.

Price looks good given that it includes the tripod collar, even if you might need to work out your own clamp screw, case, and hood. A few years back I paid about the same for a bare lens, no extras, and that seemed about right, or good, at the time

Thanks, I already have a copy of the 200/3.5 preset but mine came without the tripod collar. I thought I might find one more easily if it was shared with another lens (especially if one of the less desirable zooms).

I just remembered that I had a similar situation with a Tokina 400mm that I bought a few years ago. I ended up buying a knock-off of a Nikon collar for $12. It was a little bit too large for the lens so I used some sheet nitrile cut to the width of the collar to pad the inside. Here's a thread on dpreview that talks about a fellow's experience with the Tokina if you want some ideas.

I have mine up for sell in the Marketplace. I just sold the tripod collar by itself, so now the lens I have comes with caps and hood.

Brian, your listing still says the collar is included where it says "Item for Sale".
