In spite of the fact that the "Low Stock" indicator was present long after I ordered last night, I received an email early this morning stating the item is back ordered. I am not impressed.

Might as well backorder one and wait until they can send you one. Could be a longer wait to wait until the site has them officially in stock..

Kinda same thing here... I got an email yesterday stating "item on its way", but when I click "view shipment details", it says "this order doesn't exist". And K-1 is back ordered again in my order summary. Hmm

Check with customer rep. I just did and my K-1 shipped yesterday even though it's still on back order in my adorama online account!

Amazon themselves. Ended up paying sales tax on it but I didn't want to wait until July since I have a week long vacation with the family staring June 20th. Also put it on my Amazon store card for 12 months 0%.

My disappointment was replaced with joy as my order was ready for shipment last night. I wondered why my credit card was charged but then I received the shipment email from Adorama. I can't wait for the arrival!

It probably sold out fast due to back orders. Mine was one of them. I just got it yesterday with the 77 & 28-105. It is an awesomely badazz looking & feeling camera.

Disappointed, got my K-1 from Amazon today. Box looked a little worn, opened the box and the screen had some fingerprints and residue on the screen. Turned the camera on and no welcome screen, time set, etc. Straight to shooting. Inserted a fresh memory card, formatted. Shutter count on the forums shows a manufacture date of 4/18/16 but also a shutter count of 898.

I hope you recorded you opening the shipping box, the camera box, and documenting all the points that lead us to conclude they sold you a used item as new. Doing so is illegal.

Check and see if they were no so smart and entered a name in the copyright field..

In any case, if I had just paid 1800 for a new camera, I'd politely request (demand) a brand new camera with the used copy returned back to them at their cost. If you have the above proof, it will make it easier for you to go about this. But I'd take it one step further and make sure Amazon CS knows the seller has sold a Used item as New. Unsavory business practices need to be documented/reported.
