You know I have been contemplating about the warranty.. but I am good to see its gone. It probably wasn't worth the hassle having a K-1 without a ManuWarranty.

A camera used by Tony to make the review?
Could be, because there's also a used D FA 24-70 and a D FA 70-200.

I imagine you said something like "Oh my, that's unfortunate", right?

Tony said in his review that he was borrowing the camera from a Pentaxian, so...probably not.

Tony says lots of things.

I wish we could turn the clock back and convince RICOH to lend him one - and keep both reviews for comparison.

Well, technically speaking, if (hypothetically speaking) he bought it and then sent it back for a refund when he was done, he "borrowed" it from the ultimate Pentaxian - Ricoh Imaging!!

Somewhere in the multiple universes, there is a Tony Northrup who is a Pentaxian. You know that, don't you? But in that universe, Ricoh saved Canon from Hoya and Pentax are one of the big two.

D fa 24-70

If I hadn't just ordered the D FA 24-70 a few days ago I would jump on that used lens. 15% off is a pretty good discount I think.

Either way, I'm guessing that saying 'I bought it with the expressed notion of simply reviewing it and returning it before my return period expired so I could get all of my money back versus renting one from someone' is probably not good for business.. definitely not good for making friends with retailers...

It is nice to see what the current going rate for used is though.. just under 1500.

It will only go down from here.. so while early bird gets the worm, second mouse gets the cheese.

A worm now is sometimes better than cheese on Tuesday.

I was on the phone with the guy, asked him to pull it from the shelf just to verify exactly what was meant by "9 Condition," to which he responded that it's in literally perfect condition, should have been 9+ at least, and in the middle of providing my credit card information, "Because I'd like to order it on the phone so I don't have to waste anymore time while I already have you," and as he was processing the order an error popped up.

"I'm sorry, Sir, this item actually just sold with a time stamp of 2 minutes ago."

I apologized for his burst ear drum...

Now that you'd come to terms with spending $1500...... you can think of a new one as only costing $299.

This is a price desensitising process I can vouch for (it sorta works for 2nd marriages as well).

Sometimes and sometimes not. Life is like that, what is good for one is not necessarily good for another..
