I stumbled across this Tokina ATX AF SD 400mm f/5.6 prime on eBay today. Priced at $675 in what appears to be very good condition. Built for full-frame use. I have no money to buy anything right now but I figured I'd pass this along.

Way too much money for that lens. 350-400 tops.

At 675 you can buy a used FA* 300/4.5 and crop to 400mm. I have the DA* 300 and its substantially sharper cropped to 400 than my tokina was at 400. Plus the toking needs to be stopped down to atleast F8.

Dont get me wrong, the Tokina is a decent lens but not worth considering at that prime IMO.

I agree with Venom3300 in all respects. $350-$400 at the most. Cropping my F* 300/4.5 images produces better images than the Tokina 400 can make, even with the Tokina at f/8 or f/11. The Tokina 400/5.6 is very well built, and is fun to use, but would be waaaay overpriced at $675. [IMHO -- YMMV]

I have this lens and yes that is over priced. I have both the manual and autofocus versions. Although I have really never seen a F*300 go at that price. The Tokina does well stopped down to F10-11. It does suffer terribly from CA and PF. They are a bit rare in K mount. It is small enough to carry in a large camera bag. I would never pay more than $400 for one. Honestly I just use my HD 55-300 these days.
