The popflash photo eBay store is selling the K-1 new at $1688 on their eBay store. Popflash is an authorized dealer and I've had good transactions with them in the past. I just purchased one. 7 sold today, 2 remaining.

In their website, the price 1688 is for a USED K1... so kind of worry.

Popflash is known to do ebay specials on their merchandise. I got a new Zeiss 35/2 there years ago in the same sort of sale. It showed up new.

You can purchase the warranty from another dealer as long as it's within 30 days. The $110 B&H warranty isn't worth it anymore in my opinion. After all, I just paid $1300 for a factory bumper to bumper warranty for 8 full years and 120,000 miles on my $33k van. That's 0.8% per year warranty after standard warranty. For the camera it's 3.25% per year after standard warranty, and I have a really good feeling chances are better for my van to fail 7 years from now than my camera in 2 years.

I'm trying to get Pentax to verify acceptance that the old $17.95 warranty will be grandfathered in, it doesn't make sense for it to be sold and not work for the K-1.

BTW, got my K-1 yesterday. Brand new, shutter count 1. Huzzah!
