Very rare, however it is too expensive in my opinion, but it's a good lens.

Add this one to the list. Been a while since I saw three of these up for sale at once.

Looks like D-FA 200mm/f4 DC AW is in the pipe. 2 of them are very clean and I have a feeling that they are coming from the insider group of people at Pentax.

I take it that the implication is..... that people "in the know" are off loading their lens before the value potentially takes a dive..... when something new, similar and updated is released.

Not an unbelievable "theory" that one could dismiss outright.... most great older lenses would settle eventually around a bit less then a great new one, I would think.... and the 200 is so expensive now that it could drop a $1,000 or so I guess.

Ok good.
I will start saving for a 200 macro lens then I dont believe anymore in 150 or 180 sigma being available in K mount soon

On last pentax roadmap, could it be the large aperture Medium Telephoto single focus lens?

The sample of this would be the drop in price of the FA*80-200 as the DFA 70-200 came out.

All the sudden there were FA*80-200s for sale every where.

Back when everyone wants 2k for them, I would have paid $1200 for it, even though I knew I could get the Tamron 70-200 for less than $1000 that would have been as good or better.
Now that the DFA 70-200 is out, I wouldn't make room for it in my cupboard if they gave it to me. I simply don't want the lens, and if I do want a lens in that focal length, I will get the faster focusing, silent, WR, DFA.

As for the 200 macro... Guess it's a nice lens, but would I even use it? And for what? I take my Sigma 70-300 which provides decent 200 macro maybe one every couple of years.

the price is ridiculous for a manual focus lens that dated ~10 years (we are not talking about Leica <= that's a religion, not photo equipment )

Fully agree. It is a good piece of optical glasses but highly overpriced due to rarity.

For macro use, it is optically the best Pentax has ever made.
