I just sold my K-50 and plan to either get a K-3 II body or a K-70 with the 18-135mm lens. Leaning towards the K-70 right now, but I don't need it until Spring of next year, so unless Pentax has some serious holiday deals, I'll be sitting with just my much-loved K-S1 and 18-250. Still can't believe how great the pics are from that combo. Only thing is, I need something weather-sealed for boating.

In the same.. errrmm.. boat.. as you on this. If Pentax doesn't come hard with the sales this years (like they did in 2013 and somewhat 2014) then I'll just use what I have and wait for the refresh in the Spring. Actually, the more I think about it, the smarter it is to just wait.. I think we'll see better high ISO performance, AF tracking, and maybe a flip screen on the next K-3 style body.

I would expect the K-3 II to have some deals for Black Friday. It's a year and a half old at this point so a discount is feasible, though the current price is competitive (plus you can currently get it with a free grip from B&H, Adorama, and Amazon), which effectively drops it to the same price as the K-3 (now discontinued).

As for the K-70, the 18-135mm kit is already priced extremely competitively (same price as the D5500 kit after rebate), so not sure if it will drop by much (if any) until at least the middle of next year.

Thanks Adam! I'd rather have the K-3 II so if the sales do come, I'll be ready. Adding on $400 for the 18-135mm lens I'd be thrilled if I could do it for $1100 or so, but that may be asking too much. We shall see!
