Came across this FA* 80-200/2.8 on eBay in pretty rough shape for $448 or Best Offer with $60 shipping to the States from Japan:

the front element is cracked and it has haze...ouch

Yes. Not very good practice for the first two photos to show the front element, and not reveal the crack, but they do show it in another and mention it further down. From the looks of it, this lens was not treated carefully on a number of occasions - I doubt that all the damage shown would have been caused in just one incident. There are even scrape marks on the rear element shroud. You have to wonder about some people.
