So it is back to its price from 3 weeks ago, except now bundled with the grip. Any idea of what BF will bring us on Pentax sales?

Good deal on a wonderful camera.

I'm a pixel shift fanatic. While I do like my K1's non-pixel shift images slightly better than non-pixel shift images on my K3II - I have always felt that well executed pixel shift images from my K3II were just as good as pixel shift images from my K1. From either camera, when in pixel shift mode, I will get super-sharp HUGE image files that I can print extremely large that look equally good.

In this case, pixel shift is the great equalizer. Pixel shift images from either the K3II or K1 produce images that make as good a 20 x 30 inch print as I'll ever need!

For me, either the K3II or K1 is all the camera I'll ever need.

I've been torn between the K3ii or waiting until later next year for a K1. Right now a K1 is simply out my price range.

Long shot, but you could try contacting customer support and inquiring about getting that offer..

I had a K3II for a year before I bought my K1.

Mostly everything I learned on the K3II was directly transferrable to the K1.

Get a K3II and use it for a couple years. It really takes a long long time to master either camera.

Learning on a K3II will save you tens of thousands of shutter clicks on your K1. That will make your K1 last longer. Also, in a couple years I expect the K1 will come down in price.
