Black Friday Pentax Lens rebates begin! K-mount lens price drops at B&H

It looks like B&H has dropped prices on lots of Pentax lenses. Discounts are on the order of $50 to $100, but with few deals since the summer, these are great to see!

This mainly applies to DA and FA lenses. The newer D FA's are not on sale, though two nice K-1 kits have just gone live:

Stay tuned as prices will likely change quite a bit over the course of the black friday deals week.

I wonder if the 150-450 will go down this year like it did last year.
That's what I'm watching and hoping for. Want to complete the D-FA collection.

Here you are: ebay: Pentax HD PENTAX-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Lens 27075276802 | eBay
and their own site: Pentax HD PENTAX-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Lens
Interestingly ebay has cheaper shipping so I ordered from there. Btw. I ordered in the morning and I already received a message that the delivery was dispatched.

I have also been waiting for the successor to the 16-50mm (with newer, more reliable, focusing system, HD coating and maybe some optical tweaks). This could efectively substitue my two lenses: Sigma 17-70/2,8-4, which has nice FL, but is relatively slow, and the 18-35/1,8, which is super fast/bright, but with limited focal range. But it seems APSC is not a priority now, so I have to carry on with two zooms.
I want the 16-85 to replace my 18-55. The 18-35/1.8 seems wonderful, but same as my decision on not picking the 17-50(eBay has some new from Japan about $300), not weather-sealed.
I am sure the long reach will help me photographing people on the street.

As regards the weather sealing of Sigma 18-35: it is not WR, but because of completely internal zooming and focusing nothing extends ant the tolerances are so small I was never afraid to take the lens out even in bad weather and had no problems.

Seems wonderful, will give it a try if I can save enough money
Sigma seems to making so much better lenses now.

Sigh... I get all the B&H and Adorama email ads. They have deals on every brand of camera... except for Pentax. Sigh...

That's why I unsubscribed from their emails. If there's a deal on Pentax, I'll find it here first.

Even that picture in Adorama email with all the cameras from every brand...excepts Pentax...Felt bad after seeing the email
Does anyone have a feeling they are a little less friendly toward Pentax?

I think Ricoh is simply keeping their prices higher. With the K1 out now they want to be seen as a higher end manufacturer. In the last few years we have seen some heavy discounts. Time will only tell, but I think the prices have more to do with Ricoh and less with the retailers.
