Yes, I mentioned that in my above post. Their BF sales just used to be more significant dollars wise. Now they bundle junk to make the offer look sweeter instead of dropping the price significantly.

Though I'd be happy to be wrong.. but they haven't done that since 2013 I think..
I could sell junk I have accumulated by the bushel.

The K-3II offers are still not tempting enough for me even though B&H & Adorama are offering a "free" battery grip for $850. Hmmm....

They need to bundle the HD Pentax DA 16-85mm WR lens with that camera or some other good lens with it.

No. Not all. Nikon is really the only one who offered sizeable discounts. My friends who shoot Canon were constantly complaining about not getting the same level of discounts as Nikon. The Sony FE system has been commanding a premium the entire time. The A7rII is still way over priced. Fuji was running the same lens rebates 2 years ago that they are today. Sigma lenses are all made in Japan and their pricing has remained pretty consistent. There was no change in the price of the Sigma 85mm F/1.4 from the time I bought it 5 years ago until it was discontinued earlier this year.

A weak Yen / strong Dollar/Euro lowers Dollar/Euro prices and stimulates sales. A strong Yen such as September raises our prices.

Well, I am officially bummed.
Last years pricing for Black Friday & Cyber Monday were fantastic~
but, I had no money.
This year, I have money but no bargains, imo.
I did get a sweet deal on a NEW Pentax D FA 28-105mm at the beginning
of the month so, I am happy. Next year it will be the K-1 and some more
glass!
Happy Shooting to All!

As a K-1 owner who has been thinking about buying another relatively expensive Pentax lens or a battery grip, the Black Friday / Cyber Monday offers were like getting a chunk of coal in my stocking. I would have really liked to see a nice discount on the 15-30 but I could have been tempted to go for the 70-200 or the 150-450 if the offer was good. With the heavier full frame lenses like the 24-70 that I have, the battery grip would be handy. I've taken advantage of some really nice deals in years past. Oh well I guess I'll stick with the equipment I have until there are some good deals or price drops available.

Ricoh apparently is selling well enough that they don't need to run any big rebates.

And, in fact, *raised* the price of the K-1, according to the deal finder: Pentax Camera & Lens Deal Finder :

Camera / Lens Name Price % Off Save Low Avg. High
Pentax K-1 Body $1946.94 -5% -$98 $1796 $1849 $1947

Yes, it was increased from $1799 to $1949 (MSRP) back in November. Ricoh cited exchange rates as the main reason.

On sale you could get it for $1799 in a lens or $1849 standalone last week.
