If You Shoot With an Older Camera...you can get a copy of DxO Optics Pro 9 for free. Courtesy of DxO and DigitalCamera UK, which is a magazine.

Check the list of supported cameras first; most are more than two years old.

The free license is not upgradable.

The current version of the software is DxO Optics Pro 11. It's currently on sale for $149 from $199.

Anyone who is curious, the newest Pentax cameras it supports are the Pentax K-3 and K-50 (no K-S1, K-S2, K-70, K-3ii, K-1).

While it list the K-3 as being the latest Pentax camera supported, you can process K-3II DNG files using PRO 9 without any problems.

Not to be confused with the support from version 11 which is current (minor exception of the newest 55-300mm PLM RE lens).

Can some one confirm which edition this is,Essential or Elete. My guess is it is the Essential Edition given that it is free. Thanks

Not sure... It'll open the PS files in either PEF or DNG format and it'll look strange at first but snaps into clarity. I cannot tell if it's doing the additive result or displaying just the first image.

I'll need to take a number of PS images and carefully compare between Pentax DCU5 and OpticsPro 11.

I have 8 from last years give-away, but never really got into it. 9 has the PRIME engine and a plugin for a much smoother integration with Lightroom, so it might be in with a chance.

Holy slowness though, it took 7 minutes for me to export a single image back to Lightroom using the PRIME engine... I don't do much high-ISO shooting, but I'll keep at it to see if it's worth it. For the price of free, the only cost is time and it's not like I need to watch the bar go across while it's processing
